Supernatural sensing of species/soul-reading/etc., as well as magical abilities: Feel free! Magic in Tales of the Abyss is more of a science, with spellcasters making use of elementary particles called fonons which all vibrate at a specific frequency. Tear is a rare seventh fonist, capable of using the seventh fonon for healing.
Could this character theoretically tame a unicorn?: Probably idk.
